Celtic Weddings Ceremony
In the Celtic tradition ritual and ceremony plays a major part in the celebration of life and death. The power of the spoken word is revered through invocation and blessings. The Celtic tradition is not based on a religious dogma and is therefore open to all who wish to celebrate their union in the Celtic way.

Rita is a Celtic celebrant, her marriage Blessing focuses on the active participation of the couple and their guests. The ceremony is conducted in a natural environment with the inclusion of the spiritual elements of earth, fire, water and air.

The Celtic Wedding ceremony ritual involves:
· Blessing of the Past and Future
· Hand Fasting
· Jumping the Broom
Rita will meet with the couple prior to the ceremony and tailor it to meet their needs. After the ceremony the couple will receive an original Blessing Certificate. A Hand Fasting Band will be provided and used during the ceremony, and given to the couple to have as a keepsake.
Doolin is the ideal place for a unique, traditional Irish wedding venue. Sitting on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, the Burren is an area of undisturbed beauty. Surrounded by an abundance of nature this place allows one to connect to the deep rhythm of one’s true self, away from the pace and routine of modern life.
Rita will travel to the destination of the ceremony which can be performed outdoors or indoors accordingly. She will be happy to provide you with recommendations of local venue options and local suppliers upon request.
Please note that this is a blessing ceremony only and is not a legal union in marriage.

Celtic Naming Ritual
The Celtic Naming Ritual is a very personal way of welcoming and celebrating the child with blessings that include the participation of parents and guests.

The ritual includes a blessing of the child by Rita Dowling with the sacred Elements and an original Blessing Certificate is given as a keepsake. Rita Dowling will meet with the parents prior to the ceremony and adapt a ceremony to meet their wishes.
Farewell Ceremony
The Celtic farewell ceremony is an alternative funerary practice. The ceremony celebrates the life of the individual through blessings, music and participation from the family.

The ceremony can be tailored to the individual needs of the family. Rita Dowling will meet with them prior to the ceremony and adapt it to suit their needs.
